http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif Need Help using Canon's Zoombrowser EX software to converting RAW files
I am trying to convert RAW images from my G6 using Canon's Zoombrowser EX software, but when I have the photos open in preview mode, and I click on Tools-Processing Raw Images, I get this message: Close RAW Image Development Software before performing this operation. I also get the same message if I go about the other way, from the sidebar using Tasks-Edit-Process Raw Image. How do I close the Raw Image Development Software, or open it for that matter? Thanks!

I would give Adobe Lightroom a try. Its a free beta at the moment and is a much better RAW conversion tool

Thank you. I've been really frustrated with Zoombrowser. I have Adobe Photoshop 7.0 but it doesn't convert RAW files. I also have Newer Canon cameras with Canon Digital Photo Professional, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with the CRW images from the G6 for some reason. I'll try your suggestion.

there are several other RAW conversion applications mentioned within this FAQ thread:

Need Help using Canon's Zoombrowser EX...
... I get this message: Close RAW Image Development Software before performing this operation...

I used to have the same message after RAW Image Task was used once in a session.
I had to re-start windows to use it again.

The problem was solved by upgrading to ZB version 5.6.0.27 (RAW Image Task version 2.3.0.11)

To use with a good RAW photo, I mean one that need just slight corrections, Canon RAW Image Task is still the best RAW converter for my Pro1.

I have also Adobe camera RAW in Photoshop CS (good), I tested RawShooter essentials 2006 (interesting) and yesterday I downloaded Adobe Lightroom public Beta 4 (It looks great)
