View Full Version : finally got some detail with a fly's eyes

as the title suggests,i finally got some close up's i am half happy with.
been watching all the pic's u guy's have been posting and trying for myself to get half decent eye details with fly's n others.
anyway's here they are
(lost a lot of detail when they got resized though,still have to figure out how to resize nicely)

all taken with my 20D with 55-200mm with some ancient old 50mm reversed and stuck on the front and probably one of the craziest budget flash setup's u have seen.

exif shows f18 - you will get better eye resolution at f8-11. Maybe your set up produces incorrect exif but just in case. You might also try reversing the 50 directly to the camera body.

Always good when you get your first reasonable eye detail :)
As RM suggests try at increased aperture to maximise the detail (ie around F8-F11)

now i have the flash prob's sorted i can play some more.
this shoot was the 1st with decent light.
