View Full Version : Photographer name as a link

Hi,
I know version 2 is a big step forward and we shouldn't really be looking back at older versions but there are a couple of changes I am wanting to make; one of them emulates a function in the last version.
When displaying pictures, the older version had the photographer name as a link in the 'exif' data and clicking that link opened a pop-up with photographer contact details. I can't see how to activate that feature in Version 2 yet other data exists as a link (e.g. camera, lens...)
Secondly, and not as important, has anyone worked out a way to change the colour (or attributes) of the size links that are in the bottom right of a picture? I am finding, in many pictures, that the default becomes invisible.
Thanks in advance.

i would imagine that there's still more coding to be done to get all the links like previous versions of eE had... i haven't had time to dig into pekka's code like i did a few weeks ago so i'm only guessing...
as for the links in the bottom right of the picture, i'm assuming you are speaking of the links to other sizes of the photo, right? if so, do you have your photos being displayed with or without frames? i believe that i understood a previous conversation to indicate that those links should be in/on the frame... i'm one like many others that doesn't use frames so what i did was to create a new frame the same as one of the defaults ones but i made all the gif files for that frame transparent... i read another message where someone said they, too, made a new frame but it didn't indicate that they actually used any pictures to make the frame...

Hmmm
The size links actually appear on the picture - if they were on the frame it would be OK cos I would just adjust the frame colour
Example here (http://www.kiwi-in-oz.com/pictures/photo.php?photo=1052&exhibition=42&ee_lang=eng&u=1569,10)
Edit: OK - so the php program that works out the placement of the SIZE text does it with reference to the width of the frame if frames are selected.
The text, itself, is controlled by a couple of CSS files that decide colour and weight.
templates\fonts\trebuchet.php (in my case) and look for the entries for ee_css_sizemenu_text (around line 242), and
templates\colors\dark_green.php (in my case) and look for the entries for ee_css_sizemenu_text (around line 139)
My linked photo now shows an example of the change.

wow, yes, i see what you mean about the coloring, too... what i'm seeing, right now, is yellow links on the white portion of the matte around the photo... i hadn't played with them that much and tended to only go for the frames without any matte...
yes, you are right, though, that the placement is worked out in reference to the frame... i'm not sure, but instead of doing like i did and create transparent frame gifs, you may be able to create a new frame with some width and not enter any gifs for the 6 parts of the frame... that may lend itself to the same destination and place the links outside of the photo...
i know there's been other discussion about this but i do not remember seeing any details by others on how they solved it... i participated in the one that i definitely remember and told, there, about my creating of transparent frame pieces...

You should be able to edit the 'New photographer' text to whatever name you want on the white on black 'title' bar.
