Flower shots

Took these two shots when i first got my macro lens- thought they were quite cool but not sure if the DOF is right- i mean whether it should be deeper or whether this way is better? any ideas?

They are all nice but #1 and #3 are the best.

Narrow dof works very well and is very attractive but its always nice to experiment with any given flower to see how different apertures and angles get the best from the particular kind of shot you want to achieve.

Just keep experimenting :) and having fun.

I like the narrow DOF shots....most of my stuff is like that. I would selectively expand the areas desired to be in focus with focus-stacking.

I also like some narrow dof shots............. depends on the subject... it looks great here. 1 and 3 being my favourites. I think the softness adds to the fragility of the flowers
