Hi, just bought the D30, looks good but a steep learning curve. I intend to shoot both jpeg and RAW and will use Linearsharpen and Stair Interpolation (to enlarge if required). Could somone advise me as a start point on the following -:

1. What are the best contrast/sharpening/colour settings for RAW if I intend to Linearsharpen?

2. What are the best settings for jpeg (I know they can be personal preferences but it would help to know where to start)?

3. Should I Linearsharpen first then interpolate to increase size or vice versa?

Thanks for your help, I've a feeling you'll be hearing more from me in the future!

These settings are irrelevant for conversion to linear. They are not applied, only white balance can be adjusted during conversion.

I have now converted (no pun intended :) ) to using linear TIFF all the time, but I used to like having low sharpening and contrast and high saturation for landscape/nature. For people high saturation was sometimes too much, so then I used normal, if I remembered to change settings. :)

I think results are better, if you upsize then apply LS. This does mean that HQ sharpening option could give problems because it has the upsize-downsize steps. But I have usually found that upsized images need (and can take) more aggressive sharpening.
