(Ardea picata) I'm pretty sure this Heron is only found up in Northern Australia, I took this just outside of Darwin.

Do you have a shot showing the reflection ?.
No unfortunetely not, I was too close to the bird and I only had my 300 lens with me at the time. This is still one of my favourite shots as I just love that yellow eye, of course I always try to focus on or around the eye and this time the focus point must have been right on the money as the eye is pin sharp, also the light was perfect :)

This shot proves that you have thought it out to get the best of the shot, the stance of the bird showing excellent detail and colours and composed just right. Top marks for this shot Paul, well done.

Looks similar to the white face heron that we get in Perth WA.

Awesome bird and awesome shot! Very sharp.
I agree with the reflection comment - I'd love to see one with it intact. It looks like it has a lot of potential.
