I know I'm a bit late with these, but hey it's been a busy week!

I hadn't taken photos at a rally in ernest before (in fact this was only my 2nd rally), so I was quite pleased with the results. See what you think!

#1 A Scooby getting a bit wide

#3 A Talbot Sunbeam, especially for Cadwell!

#4 If we didn't know there was a rally on, this could look really dodgy! Probably should have been looking out for that Sunbeam!

Then it got dark:confused:. Shooting motorsports with a flash in a pitch black forest could best be described as an education! When the cars came past, it was like a nuclear blast with 4 photographers letting off their flashguns at about the same time!

Very nice indeed, although i'm not too sure about that dodgy-looking bloke in #4 :D

The weird looking Nissan is a 240RS ;)

Me neither Geoff... looks well dodgy.

Mind you, there were some really odd people about that day. This fellow was running about the track between stages pretending to be a rally car... complete with "broom-broom broom-broom pop-pop bang broom-broom" sound effects (he thought he was a Subaru)

Well, some 'lesser' photographers were unable to imagine where the cars would be and what lenses they would need! I think, if you check the image below, I looked just like a Subaru at full chat!! :p

Sure! The camera is a 20D.

The daylight shots were all with a Canon 70-200 f4L at the long end, shot with shutter priority at either 1/250 or 1/320.

The night shots were all using a Canon 50mm f1.4, shot on manual at 1/160, f5.6 with a Speedlight 420ex flash (or something like that! I can never remember the model number! :rolleyes: ).

The lenses were kindly loaned by Despot since he wasn't using them and they're better than my collection!!
