Frustration? You don't know the meaning of the word...

Got a lovely 17-40L (my first L courtesy of the very nice man condyk) in the middle of this week and guess what? It's been raining constantly ever since.

Dreams of rolling landscapes, candid about towns and the obligatory duck have gone out of the window as I have wandered around snapping everything in my house.

I have options I know:
Option 1: Wait for a good day (aaaaaaaaargh!)
Option 2: Buy a 1D and stuff the weather (not likely says my bank manager)
Option 3: Go on holiday (not likely says the aforementioned bank manager, this time probably with a little chuckle)

Frustration does not cover it, anyone know the weather forecast for the UK this weekend? Sometimes I wish I lived somewhere with nicer weather.

Congrats on the new lens ! the w/end should be just about right for you to get out and break it in properly, moderate winds , minimal or no rain and just the right amount of clouds to make things interesting:) . Me I like the variety in our weather bue skies with whispy clouds look lovely but so can moody dark clouds blown madly in the wind:eek: .

Both taken with Prosummer DSLRs, when shooting a foul weather I simple keep the camera out the weather when not in use and bring a couple of small towels to keep it dried off.

Often foul weather can make for the best images :)

Those are both nice images Mike. I'm one of those people that really like the B&W with one colour highlighted effect (don't know the correct or more concise term for it), really good use of it IMO.

I have read in a few threads about people who brave the elements with just a towel between them and photographic annihilation but I am far too mouse like to risk it. If the pleasure-preventer (wife) ever found that I had created a £1000 book-end......well you can guess the rest >:(

WOW! There are some lovely shots in there inclement weather and not! I'm still not going to brave enough (:confused:) to take my kit out in the rain but some very useful info on the GND filters.

You want to know about frustration..... I'm waiting for a converted D60 to come back from australia, its been out there since July. It should have only taken three weeks to convert and have it back, but due to other "issues" it kept being delayed, now its finally shipped. I can see that its in Melbourne, waiting for a flight but hasnt moved for two days... Grrr now it looks like it wont be back till next week at the earliest.

Arrrggghhhhhh

Anyway enough of my bitchin and moaning, I feel for you, but it always rains when you buy a new lens.
