You probably need to be a little bit more specific but the answer will more than likely be no (again depends on what you are talking about).

I like to shoot in Raw and Parameter Setting of Standard. You can then adjust as you need in the Raw conversion

On my 20D I shoot RAW - All my parameters are set to '0' but they don't enter into the equation for me.

On the 20D, when I am shooting jpegs that I know I wont be PPing, I usually set the parameters to +1 for contrast, saturation and sharpness. Generally, these images get posted on the web or emailed around. Almost everything that I print gets shot in RAW and has at least a little post processing.

most of the time I used evaluative metering

shooting jpeg:
Sharpening: +3
contrast: -1
saturation: -1
color space: sRGB

shooting raw:
all in the middle, doesnt effect picture style
color space: Adobe rGB

I use

1: set function when shooting (set to 2 change picture style)
2: long exposure noise reduction (set on 1 auto)
4: shutter AE lock (set on 2 AF/AF lock no EA lock
8: ISO expansion to 3200 (love that one)
11: menu button display position (on 1 previous)
16: safety shift in TV or AV (set to 1 enable)
