I have two 35mm Canon bodies from the year dot, an A1 and an F1, plus a small fortune tied up in their lenses. The documentation about Canon digital SLRs with interchangeable lenses states that they are compatible with EOS lenses. Does this include my A1/F1 lenses?
Also I would appreciate any comments on how happy people are with the results of their Canon digitals. It's a lot of money to spend on a suck it and see basis.

A1 and F1 have an FD lens mount, and all the latest Canon's (since 1989) have an EF lens mount. In short: You current lenses are not compatible with Digital EOS's.
If you happen to find an FD-EF adapter it will allow manual focus only and generally they are of bad quality.
PS: I got all the info about your cameras from http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/f_camera.html

D30 is a fine camera - could have more advanced and speedier autofocus system and sealed body, but as it is it's excellent and really is a very good tool for most uses.

No regrets here and have yet to read one in this or any other forum. With digital you can make the process as simple or as involved as you desire (ie: shooting
raw and processing the information yourself as opposed to the camera's internal processing). The only camera bodies that I have seen for sale are people whom are upgrading.
Enjoy
