The real crazy thing about it is, you can go out right now and buy PSE2 for less then $50, then buy the full PS CS for another $299. A net savings of $300.
Scott
PS: I got it this afternoon. It's a full Photoshop CS package with CD training video. :D

Nice, but did you read the small print? From the Adobe upgrade website:

"Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Expires on June 30, 2004 at 11:59 pm., pacific time. Offer subject to change without notice. *Limit one per customer. Must own the Photoshop Elements that came bundled with your product in order to install this version of Photoshop CS software."

Unfortunately I'm not in the U.S. or Canada, so it's not going to work for me.....
Are you sure that it also works with a retail version of PS Elements, or does it only work with a version that was bundled with some other product? (Adobe might check this by the serial number you enter).

I'm going to install it this weekend. There is nothing in the packaging that distinguishes it from any other upgrade offer from Adobe for PhotoshopCS.(PhotshopLE, Photoshop7). It doesn't even list a previous edition of any of the software as required under installation requirements.
Let you know,
Scott

Scott,
alot of people on the boards have done this upgrade. none of them
have complained of it not being a full version. it's originally supposed
to be for microtech scanners, i've been told all full version PSEII
serial numbers will work. anyway, good luck.

thanks,
eric1

Well, I installed it this morning. No problems. It didn't even ask for / search for any prior product seial #. All you need is the serial number they give you on the CD jewel case.
Now I just have to learn to use it. Maybe I should use the $350 I saved to take a class.

Scott

I got mine last week, and it never asked about previous intalls. But I had no clue how to use it. Then I bought an amazing book that makes things seem so simple. It's called "Photoshop CS for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby. It is so far well written, and easy to follow. It just tells you how to do things, not the theories behind how to use the tools. Best $35 I have ever spent.

Just an fyi,

At least one person reported on dpreview that he was able to do the online order without providing any serial number at all (left it blank). And he has now received and installed it.

Regards,
Sheri

I can really feel some people getting P.O. if they just paid the full price for this. I will say this, that mine was no upgrade or educational version, it was a full version.

I ordered my copy on Saturday afternoon. It arrived Wednesday morning! Full copy. The CD ROM on new features was a nice gimme.

Unfortunately, the trial version worked well on my laptop but the mailed version gives me the blue screen of death too often. I deleted it and am back to PS Elements 2 for now.

Gotta run. Gonna go shopping for a replacement laptop to run PS CS!

Then You just buy PS6 from Ebay for approx $50 then You can buy the real updgrade for $169.
