Just looking out for other options before the purchase.

Can any of you good folks out there give me suggestions on alternatives to Canon's cord 2 for my D60? I don't want it for anything specific. I'm just looking for alternatives. Maybe something longer. Maybe something that is not coiled. Maybe something that handles two flashes. Maybe something . . .

. . . whatever other options available. I just want to look at all things available before purchasing. Whatever you have in mind can give me ideas on who knows what.

I'm not being specific because I'm not looking to do anything specific with it. Just need it to attach my flash off camera.

Thanks in advance.

The question that must first be asked is, do you want to preserve E-TTL functionality? If so, there is no alternative. If you need more length, you can daisy-chain two of them.

If you don't need E-TTL, then the field is wide open. Paramount (www.paramountcords.com) makes high-quality sync cords with just about any kind of connector imaginable. One choice would be to get one with a female hotshoe and either a male PC connector or a male hotshoe.

I guess I did forget to mention that I want to keep ETTL functionality. Thanks for the heads-up Steve.

I didn't think there was any other options. Just checking in case I missed something. Oh well.

I have the off-camera cord; it works well, but it's very short. It's very functional if you are using a flash bracket and want E-TTL.

If you have more than one 550EX or 420EX flash, you may want to look into the ST-E2. It's a bit pricey, but works great indoors.

It is a simple task to lengthen the Cord 2 or make extensions for it.
