To morrow I am going to a concert hall where there will be a concert of a choir of 300 persons.
I have a seat not far from the scene - about 12 meters.
i would like too use my 50mm 1,4 and no flash. would it bne a better using then85 1,8 ?

Unless all you want to shoot are individuals or very small groups in the chorus, I think you will need to go wider than 85... maybe even wider than 50. I'd recommend the 24-70. If the lighting is any decent at all, you can bump up the ISO and get good shots. I just shot a chorus from the back of a school auditorium. I took a 70-300, and could only barely get the 75-some group in at 70mm.

I would call myself a "concert shooter"......if you have good-decent lighting your 24mm-70mm f/2.8L will give you the most flexibility. Bump the ISO to 1600 shoot wide open with no flash. Watch your shutter speeds while shooting in AV mode and if they get above 1/300 then adjust your ISO to 800. I will always take the flexibility of a zoom over the extra stop of a prime. Also use spot meter, and the * button to focus lock then recompose the shot.
If you shoot RAW you can work with pretty low lighting because you can adjust the exposure in post.
The #1 rule us concert shooters follow is NO FLASH.
