You can make one. All you need is some photo paper, inkjet/printer paper, and elastic or velcro.

Yes, something like that...

Or just get an index card and rubber band for ultimate "pocketability".

I was thinking about doing that but I would feel weird to have an L lens on the camera and a homemade bouncer that could get it for cheap.

Why? If it works it works. If it's homemade, people assume you actually know enough to make something effective on your own. Or maybe people don't assume anything. I've overheard comments when someone asks what its for and someone else says "that's to __" and they say "cool idea."

The point is I want to make a photo, not a fashion statement.

Another benefit is if it gets destroyed I can throw it away and make another. Costing me very very little.

That's true but if someone would willing to sell it for around ten bucks which I have seen, I don't mind paying for it but certainly not 15 or above.

Of course it's homemade. Didn't you click the link?

Yes, I did but I thought you have a retail aside and wanted to test out the homemade. Nonetheless, I think it's a great idea. I just don't want to go to a wedding where people uses pro equipments and bust out a homemade bouncer or reflector.

Edit: It's like driving a Ferrari and pump the cheapest gas.

If you're worried about how you look you have bigger problems. The Ferrari analogy doesn't really work, since lower octane fuel can reduce performance in a Ferrari. The appearance of the diffuser doesn't affect performance unless it's truly a bad design.

Ink, I understand your point of view but I don't see the point of having expensive gears and a homemade bouncer. Why would I care if it produces the same result? I don't, I just don't think it goes together with the gears.

Flip it around. What's the point of paying a premium for something that does the same as you can make yourself? I can't make my own lenses but I sure as hell can make my own flash modifiers.

Like I say, I wouldn't pay no more than 15, probably 10 max. If no one wants to sell it, then I'll have to make my own.

With that, I'm unsubscribing from this thread.

Ill help you out in the supplys department. Wal*Mart craft department, foamies 9x12" white sheet, 33 cents, should yeald 2 ABBC's. The attachment band, buy a bicycle inner tube for $3 and cut a 1 3/4" section out for your band. The bigger the diameter the tube the better.

And that, is really that, "whatever works"

This has been amusing at times though.
