Eeek!

No, I'm ok. They're all several pages back with fingers hovering over each word trying to read along. I reckon that by the time their aged brain cells catch up, then they'll have forgotten what was happening.

*ahem* yesterday at this time of day...there were 4 or 5 mods in here only....(say hello to banning rudgej ;) )....

I am awake...getting ready for another grueling night of work. Will check in later with the eyes that are in the back of my head:D

Have I mentioned recently just wonderful the moderators are? Paragons of virtue, and brains the size of a planet. I'm also covering myself in goose fat in case the flattery doesn't work...

Nice try!

Hmmmm....I dunno....John calling the mod squad paragons of profanity was a bit less than profound or prose like! He needed his goose fat and coal tar and probably a tin foil suit to go with his tin foil hat. Beware of title changes.

Oh my gosh - I go off to sleep for awhile and you guys go crazy in here (probably not so out of the ordinary - nevermind).

Medical question: I have an arm that has hurt for a long time now - pain if I try to reach over my head for anything. My plan of (in)action has been to wait it out - it'll heal, right? Then I modified my plan to include ibuprofen. Not touching the pain though... Thoughts on what could be wrong?

As my doctor told me....Dan...you stick to making pictures and let me handle the diagnosis. Might want to check with a qualified member of the healing profession.;)

I'm in and out as well

oh- Athena- perhaps a doc might be in order? could be a pinched nerve from sleep in on it, repetitive strain or any number of things. They don't particularly heal themselves esp if you are unknowingly putting the same stress on it all the time. see the doc. maybe a good PT is in order.

This is likely very sound advice. If my left arm gets any worse I am not going to be able to support the lens with it...

Just got home from my HOA meeting. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Everyone was supportive.

Tomorrow is 1/2 day of school and I don't have to go in so I plan on shooting something. And a pinched nerve is pretty bad. I just got my back worked on for that and it's a lot better. I think that's why I won't even consider a 1 series camera. :(

I think I hurt it on the trampoline (why did we buy that thing?). I spent about an hour on it with the kids mid-December and woke up the next morning pretty much unable to move my left arm. I stretched it and massaged it and it got mostly better in about a week. Only to get worse again after a few days. I think you might be right about the doctor - but I hate spending the better part of a day at the hospital. Sigh...

Better get a thorough look at so you can sleep tonight. I know when I broke a rib years ago, I kept telling my husband I broke something, he said, "Oh, you're okay." The next day, I couldn't move. 5 hours in the hospital and 2 x-rays later, complete broken rib, doctor popped it back into place, a few times, taught my hubby how to do it if it fell out again, and sent me home. Oh it hurt!

I was running outside barefoot to catch a friend who was driving out of my driveway. I didn't know there was a layer of ice on the ground. I slipped, fell and hit my back on the step down. Split the rib about 2-3 inches from the sprine. It could have been a lot worse. My hubby, who has never broken anything, couldn't believe I was that injured. But the worse part was when the rib disconnected at home and he had to pop it back into place. It was absolutely something I remember and don't want to relive again! Had an x-ray a few years later, you can't even tell it was broken. Amazing how the body recovers from those things.

Suzie - I broke a rib chasing a dog on snow/ice. Embarassing part is what I fell and hit was a mayonaise jar in the shopping I was carrying. I don't think mine was as bad as yours though - but still painful!

I've listened to the president, am showered and dressed and just waiting now for Mike to drop me off at the hospital. I'm taking a book - this could be a long affair. Wish me luck.

Yeah? Well, I cracked a rib chasing Communist Aliens from Zantar 3! I slipped on a Gravitron Power Plate that was attached to the foward hatch of the Global Star-Destroyer I was on. I know, I know, who was the idiot that put the Gravitron Power Plate there, everyone knows it's supposed to be in the aft gear lockers when the starship is engaged in maneuvers in InnerSolar Space! The funny thing is, and you'll get a kick out of this, my GLX 15 Flash pistol got jammed in the particle transport module as I fell! Hoo boy, try explaining that one to the watch captain! Any way, I cracked one of my ribs on the left side. Thankfully, our Star-Destroyer had a Calci-Fusor onboard, so I didn't have to be in pain for long. Embarrassed, yes. Pain, no.

There is something wrong with the design of those GLX's. you don't know how many times I have heard similar incidents!! THere needs to be an investigation!

Thank heavens for the Calci-Fusor!! It is the biggest miracle of modern medicine!!

Oh, you know it. Fred, the officer in charge of the Holographic Navigation Dome, once had his entire spine removed during that dreadful ambush at Zed-Zed 18 Sector Alpha. You may have read about it. It was very nasty. Anyway, Fred had the good fortune of being swept up into a Medi-Bin right away, and they constructed an entirely new spine for him. Interestingly enough, his new spine gave him an extra two inches in height. He had to buy all new uniforms.

Oooooooh. You have a GLX 15? Can I see? Pweeze?

Sadly, the GLX 15 went the way of the ol M1 rifle of the 20th century. The GLX 15 was replaced after the Battle of Io with the Pulse Generator PGT-240. It was a better gun, overall, but kinda bulky. It didn't have power flux's like the GLX, and the laser sighting was more effecient, as you well know. But still, I loved my GLX much better.

I was grounded for being around the horse in the first place... (I was supposed to be at choir practice).. being at Marvin's house who was unknown to my mother and therefore 'off limits'.. and lastly, for falling off.. fibbing about it and embarrassing my mother for having to take off and come get me out of the ninth grade to take me to the hospital.. But, when Marvin let the horse trot down the pasture (which I had begged him to do) and that feeling right before I fell was awesome... very worth it.

Chilean wines are surprisingly good. Gato Negro is another wine from Chile, and it's pretty popular.
I do like Chilean wines, and I like the price of this one. It isn't too horrid, but not for refined palates, I'm sure.

there's a Penfold's that's $350??? No way. I sell Penfold's for under $20 for a 750ml bottle.... That must be some Shiraz

as obnoxious as this is to say I doubt the majority of wine drinkers really pick up on the 'gooseberry and melon aromas with plum overtones'.. for the most part its like liquor.. you can tell the cheap from the expensive and the majority of what's in between doesn't really register.. ofcourse there is the wino's but they are a different kind...

I once had a very classy lady with a snobby accent come in looking for a particular wine that she had at a party, and how she just HAD to have that wine for herself.... I took the time to narrow down what kind of wine she wanted. I took her to all the best kinds of wines, different varietals, etc., then she saw the wine. She was all excited, and she immediately picked up three bottles.

It was Boone's Farm. Total gut rot.

They make those 5 liter wine boxes. I remember when they first came out. As a promotion, they sold a special 3 liter "trial size" version. 3 Liters. I would think that after the first liter you would know whether or not it was the wine for you.....

How many school projects have you done for your kids? Matthew needs to do a "family tree". I have spent a lot of time today finding the photos he needs, retouching, resizing, framing and printing them. Now I am cutting out leaves. All so he can come home after school today to paste it all to a posterboard and call it his. lol :)

As a teacher, I can assure you that the grades most projects at the elementary school level receive are for the efforts of the parents and not the children. I've been guilty of this myself. That's why many teachers count test scores double. Much of the homework kids hand in these days is done by the parents. Sad but true.

On a happy note, I just attended the second leg of the LIC basketball tournament. We won our game tonight against our biggest rival and will face the Flora Wolves on Friday night for the championship. It's going to be rough, as two of our starters are injured. Still, we remain hopeful because the other players have really stepped up to fill in the void created by the absence of the two boys who are hurt.

It certainly appears to be - the normal collection of reprobates for this time of day seem to be unusually quiet. Perhaps they're straining their brains to post in keeping with the tone of the thread tonight. ;)

*ahem* yesterday at this time of day...there were 4 or 5 mods in here only....(say hello to banning rudgej ;) )....

Eeek!

No, I'm ok. They're all several pages back with fingers hovering over each word trying to read along. I reckon that by the time their aged brain cells catch up, then they'll have forgotten what was happening.

Nice one Terri. :)

[skating on thin ice mode]Does this mean that we'll all end up like Tom's avatar?[/skating on thin ice mode]

Have I mentioned recently just wonderful the moderators are? Paragons of virtue, and brains the size of a planet. I'm also covering myself in goose fat in case the flattery doesn't work...

You just better hope that they are soothed enough by your calling them paragons of virtue to ignore that you called them a collection of reprobates...

(oooh...the ice is very thin by you...scampering to firmer ground...)

I keep wondering why you opted to go for the fat. Surely that will be to your disadvantage when they fish you out, stick you on the spit and roast you? ;)

Good point. *rubbing off goose fat, and coating with liberal dollops of poisonous coal tar by-products*

I am doing flavor profiles of the wines that the resort offers.. the concept is that by having the profiles we'll be more familiar with what were serving and better and pairing and suggesting wine... blah, blah.. basically we have to 'familiarize' ourselves... So, I've googled about eighty percent of it now.. there's about a 120 different bottles so, it's a bit of work... but, the end result should be able to cut down on the learning curve for everybody... not just me.

Yeah, I guess that would be a fairly accurate description. He's very sweet and caring. But the most attractive thing about him is the fact that he's honest. I've been burned one too many times by men that weren't, so this is refreshing.

Honesty can never be overrated in my book (although I joke about it being so a lot ;) )...I'm honestly glad for you Liza. Hope it works out.

I don't know if "cute" would be an appropriate term since he's my age. He's an attractive man, and he's also relatively tall. I'm 5'7" and only come up to a little over his shoulder. He's just a big, burly construction worker with a kind heart and a good sense of humor. And he likes high school sports as much as I do. We're a match made in heaven. ;)

He sounds very nice, Liza...and you sound cautiously in love;) I hope it turns out to be a great relationship.

Thanks. I hope it does, too. He told me tonight that, like me, he wants to take it slowly, but he also "wants it ALL." I thought that was nice and so unlike many men these days who just seem to want one thing. :o

They make those 5 liter wine boxes. I remember when they first came out. As a promotion, they sold a special 3 liter "trial size" version. 3 Liters. I would think that after the first liter you would know whether or not it was the wine for you.....

Very popular during my college days. Heck of a way to get plastered quickly and easy to transport. Obviously they drank the 5 liters. Hint: at least here, it tends to be the cheap stuff in the 5 liter boxes.. the less the label tells you, the more, uhh, affordable. :p

during early medical school days, bodies were provided by grave robbers. They stored intem in barrels of rum/booze. The guy who dispensed the bodies for practice also sold the booze to the med students for their enjoyment.

Or at least, that is the story

Now that is a STRONG drink. http://pix.lightrefineries.org/img/puke.gif

Much better, the Crown Royal, Grey Goose and meds are really helping

Thank you, I like her alot.

P.S. I am drinking Heineken's now to sober up some

Wow this cat can sure drink!! Heineken to sober up......DANG!!! :D

Thanks, Maureen. I am pretty cautious but am truly enjoying the relationship. We'll just have to see what transpires. :)

With that, I'm going to bed. It's 1:30 am here! Good night, all.
