a700 date problem

Hi all, I have a question about the A700, me and my dad both have one and the problem with his is that every time he turns it on the date has to be set.

I never have this annoying thing with my a700, does anyone have a clue what the cause can be, the camera is never without batteries (only a minute or so when changing them off course)

The little watch battery inside the battery door needs replacing.

I didn't even know there was a battery there, I'll check on it ASAP, weird though since the camera is only about 8 months old

No telling how long it might have been sitting on the dealer's shelf, though. Or it just might be in the camera backwards. P. 117 of the Advanced User Guide.
