256MB Simpletech Compactflash Card
just thought i would tell you all that Amazon has Simpletech 256MB Compactflash for $109.99 - $30 rebate = $79.99 shipped free, no tax in most states. Rebate valid until 3/31. Performance is above average and works with all compactflash compatable devices.

Looks like this guy's trawling for click-thru commissions again. :(
Is there a forum policy on this behaviour or am I just whinging and being out of line?

You are not whinning at all !
The 1st message seemed believable -- but to post three at different topics points is simple being a nuisance.

Mike, how much do you earn if I buy the CF card with your referral? I have one of these cards now, and I love it and am going to order another one from Amazon.
I didn't know that there was a possibility of Commissions from Amazon in groups like this, and had you mentioned that you got a referral prize, or something like that, I would have already bought the card and you would have gotten the credit. Not mentioning that you got credit for the purchase seems a little sneaky, but I am asking an honest question about the Commissions, and if given an honest reply, I will use your link.

Edited to correct spelling. Can't believe I spelled commission wrong twice. Not even the same way twice. Idiot...
Don't tell the people who issued my degree...

What kind of rules would you like to set? I don't mind ads and deal tips, but I'd like to see them on the marketplace board only and not scattered around.

It's hard to say I guess. The one thing that does seem to bother people above all is the misleading nature of these types of posts. Unfortunately, this case is a bad example because this person is profiting from legitimate deals.
A suggestion would be to be more strict about cross posting. With any luck, it would make posting Multi-Level-Marketing URLs less worthwhile and leave just the legitimate good stuff. Alternative 2: Do nothing and let the viewing public educate itself with threads like these.
I'm glad this has been taken in the tone I intended :) I plan to be a positive contributor myself over time.

How about they send them to you and you set up a click thru commission to offset the costs of the site and maybe a toy or two along the way. I bought two cf cards this week and would have loved to have had that deal and helped out the forum at the same time.
