Has any of you Europeans here seen 300D in any shops for a long time? It's seems that they've sold out everywhere. The biggest webshops around here have long queues and last 300D's where sold in November. The German store where I have placed order has none either (nor do the others I've checked) and originally promised that my camera will ship early february. That remains to be seen...

A friend of mine had a hard time finding one. I think he waited more than 8 weeks and the shops couldn't tell when it would be delivered.

He finally found one but it wasn't the price that he had in mind.

Still no sign of 300D's in other shops...

I also saw one in display case at the local shop. I'm not sure if it was even for sale but the price was a lot more than what I was willing to pay.

Well, well, I finally got one! Had to cancel my order in German webstore since they said that I'd have to wait for 6-8 weeks more. I placed an order in Finnish webstore just in case and not three hours later I got SMS message that my order is ready to be picked up :D

Now I only have to wait for those lenses to arrive from Germany (I ordered Sigma EX 17-35 and Canon 50/1.4), those shouldn't take long to be here (knocks on wood) ;)

They are pretty hard to keep on the shelves, I work in a photolab, and we haven't had one since early December here in the United States, they have been too popular for Canon to keep up with, we probably have 10 people a week walking in, and asking to buy one on the spot! Word has it that they are back-ordered from Canon?!

One thing I have noticed that Canon delivers a lot faster here in the USA. Why I am not sure but we do not have the same problems as Europe with delivery dates and camera availably. I have friends in Greece, Italy, and England and they all have the same story with delivery delays and or availability. So I have just shipped them all the stuff they needed here form the USA. I have never had any problems getting equipment not even with the D60 when it was hot. I think there is a lot more disposable income her in the United States so the supply is plentiful.

Getting one is not the problem. Getting one at a price your willing to pay is. If I wanted, I could have gone and got me a 10D or 300D instantly at warehouse or specialized camera shop. The problem is that they charge up to 25% extra that I'm not willing to pay ;)
