Hi Gang,
I just got my Spyder with Optical. I calibrated my iMac very easily. The colors look more vibrant and clear.
However, when I calibrated my Powerbook G4 screen, I ended up with a warm red tint, then the 2nd attempt yielded a blue tint, and a 3rd attempt resulted in yet another tint.
Ahhh! Should each calibration yield the same result? What am I doing wrong? Any advice?
Thanks!
Rob

Are you sure the one you have is supposed to work on LCD screens?

I had the same problem with my laptop and found that the hanging device on the spyder was not allowing the sensor to be flush with the screen allowing some ambient light to get in. I could not really resolve this fully so re-cal'd the laptop in the dark. HUGE difference, so much so that I only ever now use the spyder in the dark.

I use a BasICColor Squid and the nice thing about laptops and LCD monitors is that you can move them to a more horizontal position. Then the device will lay flat against the screen.

Very good point. I just naturally assumed that everybody knew that and calibrated using the Spyder with all the lights off and shades or curtains closed. :?
