Powershot A20 Settings Retention

I'm shopping for a digital camera, and have a question about the Powershot A20. I realize that there is a separate battery that keeps the date/time current.
After you remove and replace the 4 AA alkaline batteries, do you have to reset everything except for the date/time? In other words, whenever the 4 AA alkalines are replaced, do you have to reset the Language, Resolution, Compression, Beep/No Beep, etc.

It has been my experience that Language, Resolution, Compression, Beep/No Beep, etc is not reset when the 4AA batteries are replaced. That information must also be kept on the backup battery.
