A couple of Australian wildflowers from a recent walk.

The first was taken with the Sigma 105mm macro

Species - Leptospermum. There is one sp that is widely distributed here, this one is rarer - Barren Grounds, NSW.

The second is an Sowerbaea Sp. I think ( not an expert, I simply look in a book ). Taken with a Sigma 17-70mm. This lens is a great alternative to the kit lens and is the lens on my camera 99% of the time. ( photo is cropped )

#2 is Sowerbaea - it looks just like the ones we have an here in Western Australia. The Sowerbaea are now finished here.

For a while I was using the macro 100 mm for wildflowers that now tend to go back to the kit lens (mine must be a nice sharp one) as it seems to have better depth of field in standard light situations. But then considering changing to a slightly upmarket lens but the kit seems to be doing the job for now
