Perhaps it is not always possible to charge the NB-2LH battery pack on a mains-plug. Can some other external batteries be used with the G7? -- For example, can batteries be somehow connected to the DC Coupler DR-20 that comes with the AC Adapter Kit ACK-DC20? I have seen those produced for MP3 (e.g. Gomadic.com) but I do not know whether such solutions (or simmilar) are also available for photography. -- Or perhaps use some bigger batteries as used for long recordings with video equipment. -- Thanks -- Oscar

Ever since I have had a digital camera I have wondered the same thing. As you say you can get a mains power unit which includes a dummy battery. So there is no reason why you couldn't supply power using that dummy, only feeding it from a DC power source. The Li-ion batteries for the G7 (NB2LH) are 3.7v, so that is what you would need to supply from a battery pack.

However I haven't ever got round to trying it!
