Well,. Awesome!
You have to at least take a shot out the window,. or put some extension tubes on and get close to the wall on the other side of the room!!!
One of the best lenses made!

lol,.. I just looked at that first pic again,. the damn thing looks positively ridiculous balanced on top of that Manfrotto pistol grip! lol
I did the same thing with my 500mm for time on the same grip,.. but it was easier to balance (and a lot lighter weight at f/5.6)

Just a question as to the overall appearance of that great lens ...
are you in the process of painting it matte black, in order to use it as unobtrusive walkabout lens? 8)

:D I can't see the 400 ever being "unobtrusive" - or a walkaround lens!

EoSD30fReAk -
As long as you're in such a generous mood, When can I drop by & "borrow" your 100-400 "L"???
heck, the flight will cost me 1/3 the cost of lens.... he he he!
And then I'll have subject matter to bring back home too!
(but alas, I am sure my employer would put me to work over there too!)
---just a "wanna-be" L-whore!

another lens to envy...
I think I'd definately be out of the country with it, after conveniently borrowing his 1ds as well. heh... morality pales in comparison to addiction.
