Not sure about the name but it is the first thing that came to me being a Geologist. I love this image as the texture is lovely. :)

It is a very nice shot. I was thinking late Jurassic but the ephemeral markings suggest its much more recent :D :D

Maybe Quaternary? lol They lineations could be striations caused by the Ice Age. :P

As to the shot, if it were mine, I would definitely clone/crop out the rock that is and isn't in the shot on the top of frame. Likely the same for the other large rock, too. They pull too much.

Otherwise, I love the color and texture. Well done.

Unrelated:

Two blondes walking through the forest, and the notice some tracks on the ground. They bend down to look, one of them saying, "I think they're bunny tracks", and the other saying, "I think they're deer tracks", then all of the sudden, WHAM, they get ran over by a train! :lol:
