I know my camera is a bit dated, but it works well outside. I recently started taking shots of my aquarium and am finding the s410 to be inadequate. is there anything, based on the pics below, that you guys can think I can do to help get better shots? My main problem is getting it to focus on the fish as opposed to the rocks

thanks in advance!

You may want to try adding some side lighting. This should let you increase your shutter speed and "freeze" the motion.

I think all of your shots look quite good.
I'm not that familiar with your S410, but some point and shoot cameras may provide for focusing on a particular subject and then locking that focal distance while changing the direction you're pointing. If this is not possible with your camera, then the best thing would be to get some heavy duty lighting that will allow your camera to use a smaller aperture (greater depth of field). The further you are from the subject and the smaller the aperture, then the deeper is the depth of field.
