I've had the G7 for about eleven hours now and can say it won't let ya down and like dpreview says in the right hands one will achieve some great results, well I shall prove
these are the right hands (will post some shots later)
The lack of raw and flip screen is a bummer but it really in the long run doesn't matter if you know how to handle a Point n' Shoot then well... P+S or let someone else do it:rolleyes:  (digital allows us trial and error right) , raw is an asset for processing its great on my G6 but still pretty slow even with my fast cfcard and more suited for the kings(SLR's) the PrinceS(point n' shoot) are fine with jpeg besides Im always able to get the most out of photoshop no matter what (crops, noise etc.)
Where was I ah yes the G7 ,well eleven hours later it's a fast intuitive interface the new dial is great buttons are where they should be for easy accsess navigating what you want when u want, its screen is big+clear, it is small and compact which is what i Iike I have big hands its a little tricky but not rocket science with some tlc its just fine the manual functions are rock solid just as the G6 if not better=speedy the lens is great for what ya need 2:8-4:8 grab a G6 for 2:0-3:0 It looks super sharp+handsome as &#%*
if it were a lady I would certainly hold hands with it and go for long walks on the beach;) whisper sweet nothings:oops: ...ok I will anyways
ok its a way better a640, expensive and doesn't look the same as the others yadda yadda.. its a new camera its not the same and I think it's a little refreshing
if your into the "G" thing iam want a throw in your pocket or small lowepro bag high quality point @ a chunk of time+space+shoot camera and are
confident in Canon products (which I've been since film slr' and my old elph aps) then
check the G7 out. Power to the Shot
Power to the POTN people:D
Cheers
