trevi, i went there on my honeymoon. 7 days in the rain forest (stayed at silky oaks, i believe) for the lady, then kirra, burleigh, et all, and some surf in sydney. my wife couldn't believe that i brought my board on that trip. "why don't you just rent one there?" sorry sunshine, but i want to turn;>). good times, good times.

Great shots Trevi, Do you shoot from the groyne on the mouth of the Tweed or from the beach? Looks like the groyne.

Very nice pictures, nice colours and surfing style! With this very nice piece of glass and spring/summer in AU, is there no way you can keep your ISO lower than 400? I'm asking since some of the pictures look a bit colour-corned (how do you say it?) looking like you turned up the saturation a bit too much? also the third one looks like some blown highlights?
Other than that I still think your work is really nice and I envy your shooting conditions and equipment :-)

Thanks for comments guys...

ISO 400 cos it was roughly 5am and intermittent cloud. Also being the East coast I was shooting towards the sun hence I overexpose slightly on the subject so they don't appear as silhouttes (sp?). By doing this I tend to blow the part past the wave a bit. Just gotta weigh up what is important and I have gone for the surfer to be visible. I normally I do like to shoot at 100 or 200 ISO.... I plead extenuating cicumstances here...

I shot these from the middle off the beach (my preferred spot)

The saturation is not fiddled with much. A lot of the waves are this colour. Other photogs get the same results when they shoot at this time of day. It is (imho) due to the angle of the light and the shallow sandy bottom. I could be wrong, this is just my theory

Once again thanks for your comments

The contrast in the blue and green water if fantastic, and all tack with the extender. Makes me want to go down to the beach today and see if I can any thing like them.:p
