Possible problem with my G7?

I was out shooting the last couple days in overcast weather and I noticed something weird with my camera.
When I half pressed the shutter to focus, sometimes the entire LCD screen would have a magenta tint to it! It didn't seem to affect the pictures it was taking, but seemed weird non-the-less.

Anybody else experience this?

Had the same problem a couple of times, to me it looked as if the the camera was working to adjust the screen for the lighting conditions if a large area was very bright and the other half was dark. Like taking a shot of a window frame against a dark wall As you point out the actual image is OK.
