but I'm new. Here are some pix from SEMA...a few weeks ago. Some cars...some babes...the best of both worlds. All photos shot with a 350D, 28-135mm IS (not wide enough!), 430EX flash for some photos...not all.

Looking to buy another lens...something a little wider (for everday use and for shows such as SEMA). Suggestions?

Transportation? All I remember are the girls....OW! Hey, how'd that shoe hit me inthe head! My wife isn't even home!!
Lens idea? A telephoto somewhere in the 24-75 2.8 range might be good for show like that, but I'm not too sure. It would allow you to get a nice wide angle as well as being able to get a bit closer if you need to. The 2.8 f-stop would be fast and nice for indoor shots.

*edit* Just saw that yours went down to 28- you may want to look in the 17-? range, but avoid fisheye lenses- I don't think the girls would look as good! (Ow, darn, there's the other shoe...)

Beautiful shots... A lot better cars than at our local auto show...

nice shots. i find the 17-55 a great indoor car show lens. it has f/2.8 and IS. plus it's wide enough to really get those angles.

You shot those girls at 1/3 of a second and they didn't move or it didn't blur? You do have the IS though but still...very sharp unlike the 28-135 which is pretty soft at times. Yah, I need a new lens...the 28-135 is good but I want better but I'm not sure if I want to spend "better."

How's the Tammy 17-50 2.8?
How's the Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5? or the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro DF?

These two combined doesn't cost at much as the Canon 17-55 2.8 IS or the 24-70 2.8 or the 24-105 f/4L IS!!!!

Hey Chopstick, which of your flashes were you using?

Look, same car but different wheels!
