Below are a series of photos that I took when I lived in Skye for 5 weeks. There has been some editing of the photos in PS, mainly curves, levels, cropping and straightening.
They were taken with a Canon Powershot A95 on manual settings.
Waterfall - To me seems a bit flat but I am not sure. I think I used the B&W setting on the camera which was a naughty thing. :o

The Storr - Cropped from a larger photo as the bottom had unwanted powerlines in it.

Kilt Rock - Straightened, curves and levels altered.

Let me know what you think.

All 4 images are outstanding. My personal favorites are the last two - they are superb!

Hi Andy. For some reason I've never been to Skye (yet), but it certainly looks like you had a fair choice of scenery to photograph there.
#1 - I don't think you should have used the B&W setting - I think it's alwats best to shoot colour because you can always convert to B&W later. In this case there seems to be a strangcoloured effect in the sky. Apart from that, the waterfall looks good - I think waterfalls need either a fast shutter or a slow shutter, and this is fast enough. I think the composition is basically sound, though I can't help thinking the image should be rotated clockwise a bit. (And I wish I could see it in colour!)
#2 - This looks really garish to me. I think the colours are over saturated. The little patch of foreground in the bottom right corner is distratcting too - I think the composition would work better if there was more of it or none of it.
#3 - I like this. Very restful, nice lighting, nice use of the tree to provide a natural frame.
#4 - This is also quite garish, especially the sky and the sea. But I like the composition - good use of the rule of thirds - and the grass on the bottom edge adds a very valuable natural border which prevents the drop of the waterfall from leading the eye out of the picture. Nice job there.

#1 - It may be slightly off on the rotation cause of the smell, i later found out there was a dead sheep up at the bottom of the waterfall. I didnt want to hang around too much due to the smell.
#2 - What do you mean by "Garish"?
I can upload the original for the Stor for you to judge if it should have more of the image?
#3 - This is by far my personal favourite. Glad you liked it as well.
#4 - Again I can say that the water was blue. But maybe not as blue as that.
Thanks all for the comments, more commenst would be appreciated. :D
