View Full Version : A new work day

I shot these on the way to work. It was a nice crisp morning with a very nice sunrise as well as frost on everything and some fog. I thought it looked nice so I shot a few shots while driving through the car window. These are of course processed in different styles for the final effect. I often try different things with different images to hopefully learn new stuff.

Critiques welcome.

Stunning work as always MR PELL!
Can't say enough about your post production skillz.
Combined with your cam ability and the beautiful drive to work, you have an awesome combination here. Print em, stuff em, and mount them ;)

I'm sorry but I have to respectfully disagree with Drisley, although the last image has some merit, there are fundamental flaws in the first three.
The sun dominates and should be secondary to the composition, there is some awful halos around objects, flare is distracting and central major elements don't help.
I can see where you are going, and how you have tried to retrieve the exposure, but in this instance it doesn't work.

You have some fabulously creative work in your gallery, these don't come anywhere near it.

I appreciate the critiques no doubt. I was experimenting with new techniques so I enjoy reading what others have to say about them.

I will say though for 80kph driving one handed not looking with a 5lb camera, the shots look pretty cool to me. I was not trying to retreive exposure, I was trying new techniques of processing. The sun was also my focal point so I think for what I was aiming for they turned out perfectly. (considering the obvious challenges involved).

Stuff that has halos around them and flare I think add to the 'mystical' feel to the shots.

At any rate thanks again, I do truely appreciate other peoples HONEST opinions :) !
