Yeesh, I shouldn't make so many post about my picking of digital camera, or lack of. So far, it's between the tag of war of SD600, A630, and the A540.

Okay, let's factor in some pro and cons that are primary the biggest reason into my reasoning for these three camera.

SD600:
Pro: - Ultracompact, able me to carry where-ever and however
- Good price range
Con: - Lithium based battery, me no like. A huge factor.

A630:
Pro: - Moveable LCD screen, protect the LCD when not in used
- AA supported, and used. Me like. :)
Con: - Freaking huge, compact but heavy and looked big that It would be
in some case, weird for me to carry around in pocket or so-so.
Huge factor.

A540:
Pro: - good enough size to carry around, won't be weird.
- Used AA battery
- Price is awsome too
Con:- Cheap for a reason, that and I wanted something with option to choose for, more expensive than $200 would be nice to spent on.
- still kind of big, in a sense

Okay, by looking at these, you could tell the A540 would as the con is small, and hardly a matter. But the fact that I wanted to spent money on a quality camera come into play too. And those with huge factor is something that actually determined why I didn't chose, or chose that camera.

I'm planning to buy it this friday, you know black friday. :)
I've been spending countless hours, and times, and resource on this. And a lot of waiting for the day to come. And it's almost here too.

So, I wanted you guys to check out my ...little statistic facts, and see if anything that would stick out and let me notice. Meaning, anything that would make one better than the other, or making one worse than the other, so I can have a good camera to use. Thing is that I'm hoping the camera will list several years with me. I know that it wouldn't last long, but I'm a concern kind of guy,and will take care of my stuff.

I may go out on thanksgiving, and check out the camear store. If they're open, that is. Is Walmart open thanksgiving? I don't know. Any answer is apperciated.

I should shut up now...

Just get the one you like. It's not like the choice will alter the space time continuum, it's only a camera your supposed to have FUN with.

Get one and start having fun.

I agree.

That sums up what I think should be said in reply to most of the numerous postings here that agonize over choices. Check reviews, check prices, handle the various cameras in local stores if you can, then buy one. Only YOU know which one will suit you best - and they will ALL take fine photos if you take the trouble to learn how to use them.

I guess from your post you want a physically small camera.

I don't understand your reluctance for Lithium batteries. It is a good reliable technology that allows the camera designer produce a really small camera.
I have a Sony P200 7.2MP x3 Optical zoom, its tiny produces amazingly good photos and uses lithium batteries. It is now a year old and has 6000 photos under its belt exactly because it is so small and light because of the battery technology. I can take 350+ photos in a single day on a single charge. Since that is not always enough I bought a compatible battery for about $12 so now I can shoot 700+ in a day :)

My other camera (I don't think about 35mm any more) is a Canon S3 IS, it uses AAs but it is a big camera because of all it can do there would be no design advantage in using Lithium Ion in that size of camera.

Go hunting on Black Friday and dont come home without the camera you want at the price you want. Don't come home with a turkey either youre a day too late.

The other cameras are bigger because of the AA cells, its your choice - you can get the most from your camera if you can take it everywhere but you are the one who has to be happy with it or no matter how big or small it is. They are all great cameras, go-for-it!

Well, I know what I want now.

It's the SD600.

The A630 is to big to carry around everywhere, as so for the A540.
The SD600 is perfect for it, and I can get bypass the fact it's lithium based. I don't like lithium based battery, mainly because buying a extra set is expensive, while the AA is good and unexpensive.

Now, is there any way to protect the LCD screen on the SD600? Like a cover? I don't want to damage it, really.

My girlfriend has the SD550, she loves the camera. I like it too and the pics it takes. So I'm pretty sure you'll end up liking the SD. Only thing I don't like is the zoom on it. Other than that, the size, features and every thing else on the sd550 is good to go. Ao I'm aure the 600 will be just as good, and work for what your looking for.

Good point about compatible L-Ion batteries. For the camera I mentioned a genuine Sony one was about $70+tax in the stores, the $12 unit is a 'compatible' which in my case works every bit as good as the original battery, looks to be of identical build quality just the brand name is different. I could get 5+ of the compatibles for the cost of a genuine Sony - how is that for a really expensive sticker? I guess similar savings can be had on compatible Canon batteries too.

Great to hear we've pushed uou off the fence you were sitting on, I think we may have pushed you onto the correct side.
