I took the plunge and bought a 2 month old D30. Looking for advise on whether to purchase an LCD protector or use a cleaning cloth.
thanks,
Sharon

I too would like the answer to this question. I read somewhere that a lcd protector for a Palm
Pilot would work.

I see the protectors for sale on ebay, but would like some veteran D30 users advise.

I bought a package of 12 Belkin PDA Screen Overlays at an OfficeMax for about $10-12. The package comes with a cleaning cloth and plastic card for smoothing the sheet onto the surface of the LCD. Just cut the sheet to fit and slap it on.
The surface of these sheets has a slight texture, but I find that it doesn't really interfere with reviewing the image or the histogram. I was always wiping nose grease off the LCD before; the textured surface of the protector sheet seems to make it less noticeable. Plus I'm not worried anymore about scratching up the LCD if I have to set the camera down somewhere or stick it into my pack. I'd recommend getting some; a package will last you the rest of your life!

I see many D30 owners asking the same question and wonder why.
The LCD panel on my camera has a glass cover which, I believe, protects it very well. Glass is not easily scratched and should need no additional protection.
Just my 2c worth.

I've been told, but have not verified it, that LCD covers are easily replaced should they be scratched
