Does anyone know which camera is most capable of IR photography - the G3 of the Rebel? Thanks

G3, unless it really that different from the G2. I have taken some with the G2 - with tripod or monopod. I would think the Rebel D would be designed to to lessen the IR ability - like the 10D is. The Rebel film is incapable of IR - or so says the manual.

Probably the Drebel, or a tie. AFAIK, the G3 is less sensitive to IR than the G2 (stronger hot mirror). The DRebel probably has a similar sensitivity but it can reach ISO 1600, and with a luminous lens (as the 50/1.8 or 50/1.4, or any lens with maximum aperture below f/2) you can keep even more light than the 2.0-3.0 max. aperture of the G3.
I've tried a couple of IR pictures with my S50 and DRebel, and have good results with both (the S50 has an IR hotspot in the middle, and the dRebel 18-55 lens too, but the 50/1.8 hasn't), but I was able to do some tests with the dRebel even handheld at ISO 1600. You can check the results in my "IR pictures" exhibition. You can click in my signature or go directly to them here:
