AF Point and ZoomBrowser

I'm sure there is a setting or mode that has made this change but I can't figure it out.

When I first got the 30D and installed the newer EOS version of ZoomBrowser I was able to open the image in ZB and then click on the AF Pount icon in the window and it would show me the red square for the AF point used.
Somewhere along they way this changed and now when I open the image in ZB and click the AF Point icon it shows me the 9 AF points but none are in red indicating which point was used. I'm seeing the point when I shoot but not in ZB. If I check one of those original images the AF point does show up in red.

What did I change? or what camera mode will enable or disable this? Does this have anything to do with changing C.Fn 4?

Cant believe I find someone post exactly the same question. I am trying to find why some of my shots are not looking so much in focus - and all I can see is 9 black spots.

I also C fn 4-1.

I'm going to try switching C.Fn 4 back to default and see what happens.

EDIT: I just changed C.Fn 4 back to 0 and sure enough, now I see AF points in ZoomBroswer. That seems to be an odd tradeoff. It's not important to see. I was more curious that anything. Makes no sense, but ok.

My shots in the 'idiot' mode have the red highlighted....gotto be something to do with c fn 4!!

Hi,

I'm running version 5.7.2.18(7L) of ImageBrowser (supplied with my 30D)

After clicking on a thumbnail, on going to "view>show AF frame" all frames are shown with the active one highlighted in red - just as originally in the viewfinder.

Have you upgraded your browser from the Canon site?

Read up to my followup post. This happens when you change C.Fn 4. In the default 0 position it works fine which explains why I saw AF points in ZB for the first week or so of owning the camera and then I discovered C.Fn 4-1 and 3 and have used my camera this way since.

Oh dear! That'll teach me to read threads more carefully before replying! :o As you say, it makes no sense!

It does make sense. If you don't keep the "*" button pressed when you take a shot, as far as the camera is concerned, there is no active AF point and, hence, no red AF point shows up in Zoom/Image Browser. If you have the "*" button pressed when you take the picture so that the camera will know which AF point is currently in use, you'll see the red AF box show up in Zoom/Image Browser.
