Canon AVIs

Hi - (new user here)

To save me some time (i've been trying some searches) can anyone tell me the best way to convert the Canon AVI movies into something a little less, well, large.

I would prefer to convert them into MPEGs or something similar so I can email and upload for viewing.

There's a good tutorial at http://puntkomma.dhs.org/tutorial/

Don't forget you need to have the appropriate codec installed... I use the Morgan multimedia codec, from http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/ and can thoroughly recommend it...
