Well it seems to me on many levels that the original 1D was better than the D2H. Now look at the 1D Mark II Wooo-hooo! Canon did it again!

Here's the comparison:

Have a look for yourself!!!

What do you guys think, has Canon taken the lead, or what?
I am working on a cleaned up version...The new Canon Camera kicks some serious butt!

well i know which one i would buy

I thought the pdf said it could accept the rebel lenses? or was that part of the speculation?

"Lens Restrictions: Yes, doesn't accept EF-S (lens for Digital Rebel)"

That was off the site I gave initially, about 1/2 way down under lenses.

Canon has allways been well ahead.... the actual compititon for the 1D was the D1H... (meaning that the D2H was too late to the party to be considered the 1D compitition,.. as illustratd by the release of the 1DMkII)

So when the choice was 1D Vs D1H.. as it was for over two years... the comparison was in fact laughable...

When the D2H was anounced,. after Nikon had over two years to beat out the 1D,.. did the D2h blow the 1D out of the water?

No

They merely matched the ageing 1D with a few added bells and whistles. At heart they are essentially of the same specs.

So Nikon had a few months or so of being on equal footing with the D2H Vs. 1D ...... well,. didn't last long did it!.

Rumour has it $4500 which I have seen a few places. Go to a search engine and look it up "Canon EOS 1D Mark II" and see for urself. Again for the time being it is speculation and it won't be available till April they also say.

Cheers from England,
Canuck

I have mentioned before - it retails for 548000Yen here in Japan.
But someone who constantly sells Canon and Nikon on Yahoo auction is already selling it. It's kind of like you pay part for part of it now and pay the remaining when he gets them in stock.

He is asking for about 4400 bucks with tax incluced which is 5%.

So what? You don't want to use a $100 lens on a $4500 camera anyway... :?

Unless its a 50 mm F/1.8. :)

But otherwise, you're right.
