This is the second time I have shot at this location. I am a lot happier with the results this time but there is still a lot of room for improvment. C&C apprieciated, thanks for looking.

Far too many images and too slow.
After 98 seconds i just gave up.

Same problem here - I gave it a min or so but just got the top part of the first image. :-(

Ditto ... loading way too long. Try re-posting at 72 ppi around 8" X10".

They were terrible days... to quote "The IT Crowd" (UK Channel 4)
"up all night and you'd get to see 8 women" ;)

Wonder why these ones are so slow - mine are imageshack hosted and load in no time!?

After about 10 mins I have ONE whole image and a few 'bits' of others, the whole image looks pretty good IMO and the bits look promising as well... :-)

I also have the insane loading time, I don't understand it, I have used imageshack for years with the same size images and never had a problem before. I will try reuploading them and posting the new links in a little while. Hopefully that will do the trick.

EDIT: ok, I have reposted these and they seem to be loading much faster now. Thanks for being patient everyone :)

They are a bit faster now but still way too slow for people to wait for a post to open.

I don`t understand why you have to post so many images , wouldn`t just one (good) image be enough ?

Your images took less than 10 seconds to load for me and I'm on an average speed DSL account. Anyway...

I wish you would have redone this shot:

However, #3 is similar to the other photo in that first thread you had and the new and improved sky looks GREAT (not to mention the processing).

I'm one under the maximum ;)

Allowed # of images: In 'Photo Sharing' section:

when you attach images, you may attach max. two (2) images per thread
when you embed images, you may embed max. eight ( per threadBut you are probably right, less is usually more.

Thanks for the comment JT, I was trying to get some different angles then the first time. Maybe next time I will try to reshoot it if there is a more foreboding sky :)

No worries :), I often do just post one or two photos, but this time I felt like posting a series. Unfortunately image shack seemed to be having some technical difficulties

I love #3. They loaded just fine for me. Probably an issue with the hosting site or router between you and his hosting site.

Loaded fine here. Nice shots, though they seem a little dark on my latop.

Strange - all of them popped almost up instantly for me.

I particularly like the dramatic feeling of the B/W one - and I'm usually not a fan of B/W. Ansel would probably give you a good mark for it, as do I.

I cant say this lot took too long for me, although I believe less is usually more when it comes to the forum. Nice shots Protium.

Tried this one in B/W

Am I looking at a potential landslide?

How about this one?

Interesting subjects. Could be very good photos- you spotted the potential. Well done.

Thank you everyone :) Whatever issue imageshack was haveing at the time must have been resolved.

Mstar I like the B/W conversions and that is indeed a potential landslide. The whole area is is littered with fallen rocks, some which are enormous.

Thanks for the link Mark, I have seen some of Ansel Adams's photographs before but there were many that were new to me. His work is always inspirational. Have you ever read "The Negative" or any of his other books?

Mstar
26th of November 2006 (Sun), 16:36
I have "The Negative," "The Camera," & "The Print" and another one as well. I am a keen Ansel Adams fan and have visited an exhibition in London, UK and I wish to plan a trip to the amazing National Parks where Adams did a lot of his work. I have friends who have been visited these places, but, I have yet to do it. I suppose I could sell my 70-200 IS!!! No-way!

Visiting the US National Parks has been on my list for years- They will be visited!

Your photos reminded me of Ansel's Photos. Where were they taken?

That is a huge compliment, thank you :) These were taken at a spot called Cape Spencer near Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

I have almost bought a copy of the negative a few times but ended up getting something else instead. Perhaps I will put it next on my reading list.

Much faster to view them now, probably a problem with your server.

I love the way you keep your skies quite dark blue,it works really well with this kind of photography, nice.
