There was a disturbance in my subdivision the other day - fire engines and police cars - grabbed the camera with my new 70-200 F4 IS and went to the edge of the perimeter and got this...

Cropped and sharpened a little. I am NO PP wiz by any means - or any kind of wiz - wanted to share the photo. Notice the little stuffed bunny with the little headphones? Must be a comfort toy brought by the crew! This is also an experiment to linking from my flickr page - I am sure I will find out if this is a no-no - won't be my first spanking!! Enjoy and happy snapping!! Tim.

The link came through fine. If all is well after this event, you might wait awhile and then offer a copy of the image to her parents. Although it's not a happy picture, the family can look back at this in the far future and reflect about that day.

I once shot some images of a neighbor's house on fire and then years later I happened to mention it. He was was grateful to get copies of my shots because he was kinda busy that night.

bdj3 - Thanks for taking the time to reply!! Other than being afraid of dogs for some time to come she is alright. As for the lens - WOW - is about all I can say. Have not been doing this for all that long - but after doing it I knew I wanted to do it more! As far as I know - the 70-200 F4 IS is the best compromise of weight/performance for me. I hefted the 2.8 IS (and not a wimp) but I really could not see toting that around all morning on one of my sojurns - or into the field if I wanted to do some PJ stuff - the IS works well and what I can tell from the glass - my first "L" and I "L"ove it.

Scout - I had not thought of that but I may approach the family at some time - or one of their neighbors to make that offer. I just posted the one but got several of the chopper inbound and them loading her. Thank you as well - for the thought.

That's a really nice shot, the lighting from behind and the expression of the crew makes it seem incredibly heroic.

Again, wonderful shot. :)
