Does anyone know if the new Sigma 80-400mm f4.5-5.6 OS Lens is compatable with the 1.4 x and/or 2x teleconverter?
If so are there any function reductions when using the t-cons?
Thanks for any info

Which 1.4x and 2x telecons, there are a few different manufacturers out there.
You basically loose 1 stop with the 1.4x and 2 stops with the 2x, and with the 2x you will probably loose AF as well.

You'll loose AF with either T-con...
It is Compatible with both Sigma T-cons... don't know if anyone has tried it with a Canon t-con yet.

Will the Canon Extenders even fit?

I really don't know yet Paul.
They do fit on a number of Sigma lenses,. essentially any Sigma lens that the Sigma T-cons will fit up to now will also fit the Canon T-cons (70-200mm, 50-500mm, 500mm, 800mm, 300-800mm, 300mm, 120-300mm... etc)
So the chances are very good that the 80-400mm will fit the Canon T-cons as well.

I tested with both a Sigma EX 2.0 and a Sigma EX 1.4
Both were modified with the tape trick to keep AF.
Both gave me perfect results, but the 2.0 was slightly softer than the 1.4 but perfect for a TC, even with the lens wide open ;D.
I decided to keep the 1.4x because the difference in zoom with the 2x was not as spectaculair as I anticipated ???
The 1.4 with the tapetrick focusses almost every time for me, outdoors every time, indoors it hunts sometimes, but that even happens without the extender.
I'm turned at the moment and advise the 1.4x extender.
Greetings,
Frank
