I notice from DP review that the G7 uses the NB 2L battery whereas the Rebel XT uses the NB 2LH battery.
Can you use the Rebel battery in the G7 anyways? Are they the same size?
thx

they use the same battery and are interchangable.

NB2LH in the 350D, 400D, S70, S80, and G7. No worries. If you have any NB2L batteries (e.g. S50) they will work too.

in case anyone is wondering, I also sent the same question to Canon and got this response:
The NB-2L is an older design and provides 570 mAh (milli-Amp hours) of
power. The NB-2LH battery pack has been updated to provide 720 mAh of
power. An increase in mAh means the battery will perform longer before
requiring a recharge. The NB-2L or NB-2LH battery packs may be used in
both the Digital Rebel XT and the PowerShot G7.
again thanks to everyone for clarifying this for me...
