I would like to purchase CS (wouldn't everyone?) but not at Adobe's full retail!
I have looked at the Microtek offer and can't see how one can do that living in rip-off Britain.
Has anyone got round this yet in UK?

whats the offer?
If you have Adobe Elements, you can buy PSCS for $299 US. Here's the link. I don't know if they'll send it to England, but you can ask, I suppose.
FOR SURE it works in Canada.

I did contact Adobe asking for justification of them ripping of UK consumers. They wrote
Thank you for your recent enquiry.
The price difference is due that US market and the UK market work independently.
Also Adobe products bearing American serial numbers are cannot be registered, supported or upgraded in UK.
Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

As I said,
"Rip-Off Britain".
Is this really all to do with 1776 ? :) One question remains. Although we can't register, upgrade and get technical support (none of which really worries me that much)
CAN WE ACTIVATE a US copy in UK??????

The only thing you can do is move to the USA. The salaries are much higher there and the tax is much lower there. Cost of living is higher, but nice toys are much cheaper.
Regards from The Rip-Off Netherlands.... (where VAT is 19%). :(

OK guys my son is off to Canada next month. How compare prices there for lenses filters, software etc.
Surely it can't be Rip-Off Canada too?

I went for the bait over the weekend. PS Elements came with my D10 and that's the serial number I entered.
I received an email this morning (Feb 2nd) saying it has been shipped!
Now, if Deke McClelland will release his CS version of his 'bible' I can get someplace!

Yeh, that's fine Rick but the point of this is to discuss what happens outside outside N America. We know you can get it - we can't
Adobe says if I get my hands on an Elements offer here in Uk they will not register it or allow upgrades of CS.
I'm not too worried about either of these. The question is:
Will we be able to activate it?

The Question :-
I've read on various forums that people in the USA are able to upgrade their version of Photoshop Elements 2, that came bundled with their digital
camera, to Photoshop CS at the upgrade price.
Is this facility available in the UK ?
The Reply :-
Thank you for your recent enquiry.
Yes you can upgrade to the latest version of PhotoShop at an upgrade price. The cost would be £492.33 inc VAT....
Me thinks that they're not giving much away !
