I've been a photographer for some time but haven't done much posting on the web so I've got a few questions about how to get your images so that they pop nice and clear. I've seen some sites where the shots look as good as they would in PS and I've seen some that aren't so crisp. Most of my trepidation up to this point has been people stealing my images, but with better digital watermarking, I've been able to feel more at ease with posting at online galleries.
So the big question: How do you save your images so that the crispness of your image isn't compromised when you compress it for posting on a web site? I've tried the PS Save for Web route, but haven't been able to get the ratio of compression to sharpness down quite to the level I'd be happy with. Anybody got a "How to?"

Resizing will make them look unsharp.
Sharpen after resizing using a small radius - 0.4 or 0.5
