Lovely Marie, love the globe and the young student walking past, and fine framing.

However (only a small one), is that I find that blue box (or whatever it is) on the left hand side distracting in the midst of all that monochrome. If it was desaturated, then balance would return...

id love to see a few more of the sculpture!

also, there's a bit of noise visible, doesn't bother me as im a bit of a 'grain whore' and its just the digital equivalent to me ;)

nice one!

I really like this one Marie, Love the golden globe and the way the gold light is picked up in the window, the girl walking by adds an extra bit of interest in the whole scene. I didn't notice any noise in the photo.

I agree about that blue box . when I was looking at the picture originally I cropped it out,
then left it in as the picture needed more room on that side
then I completely forgot about it

it does take a bit from the whole 'picture'
now that you reminded me

:)

thank you Eyelikedurt*
(I can see why*)

in the url on the first post you'll see the globe on the top
but still not large enough
I'll get a bigger picture of it another day
right now its the combination of the windows, the globe and the girl
they seem to 'blend' nicely

I thought the very same
extraordinary how the light in the window and the globe and also her hair, all go so well together.
she just happened by when I was taking a shot of the windows and globe.
showing her walking a teeny bit further on may have been better for the whole scene , but other people walked into the picture just then
so I took the shot real quick to catch that particular girl
loved the colour of her big bag too. thought it matched the rest nicely

thanks all
:)

That's a great shot Marie, really well captured and a wonderful example of a good candid.

It's a beautiful place to visit and even though I've been there 3 times, I always look forward to going back, particularly to see the "Book of Kells".......:)

Top arches cropped tightly make me focus on the student rather than the interesting building. Great tones and range.

I know what you mean
looking back at the original seems it was because the very top was not even was the reason why I cropped. I had forgotten I done that
the brickwork above the windows (in my shot) is slanting slightly and it shows up more... being bricks

that also answers the question which Coco- Puffs asked :)
( re slight slant)

the girl and globe seem to set the windows off better though (for me)

many thanks
