Using an IXUS II as a webcam - is it possible ?

I've read in these forums previously that IXUS cameras cannot be used as webcams. I think it was because they would get too hot during constant use.

There probably is a way, but I wouldn't advise it !

Would you really want to use a £300 digicam as a webcam ?
You can pick webcams up for less than £20 these days !

There is some third party software can do it, but it is said that it will do harm to your CCD.
