Hi,

My better half has recently taken an interest in photgraphy. Up to now she's been using a point and shoot but was getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of manual settings. So I did the only decent thing a gentleman could do. I've bought myself a 10D so she can use my 300D. What a selfless gesture! :D

And what a great camera! I know there's not a lot of difference between the two cameras but control over the AF mode and metering mode plus the better build quality gives the 10D the edge over the 300D in my opinion. And, of course, it is black :)

Looking forward to sharing some pics when I can get out. Anyone else find work gets in the way of having fun? :x

All the best,
/Phil.

I really envy you guys whose wives enjoy photograpy. Although my wife doesn't begrudge my endulgences, she still can't understand why it's more fun to take pictures than to go to the mall.

Congrats on your "selfless" gesture which was justly rewarded on your part by an upgrade to a 10D. :D

You can consider yourself a lucky man. My better half becomes jellous of the camera when I take pictures ... ??? ??? ???

Greetz,

Perhaps you can take pictures at the mall, while she shops. :D

And it better be pictures of items in the shop windows instead of the pretty window shoppers.

If I was you I would add couple L glasses for her 300D and only borrow back when you need them.

Mate, you can read me like a book..... Obviously, with the 300D kit lens having the EF-S mount it was no good for my 10D. So, another selfless gesture was called for. In order for my beloved Lisa to have exclusive use of the fabulous 18-55 lens, I had to furnish my 10D with a lovely new 17-40 f/4 L.

Howzat!

It's great having a wife that shares the same interest.
My wife can't take a good shot of me and my daughter. It's always either out of focus or the the camera is moving around.
And she scratched the rims on my car after 2 wks of driving!
