Hi all, I'm considering to upgrade my camera to digital SLR soon from my S30. The strongest choice up to now is 300d and d70.

Just want to clarify 300d continuous focusing. Is it possible to manually turn on and off that feature? I heard that it is one of the removed feature so that they won't jeopardize their 10d sales by creating 2 digital slr with the same feature sets. Can anyone please clarify this?

Hi,

it's not possible to manually switch between AF modes on the 300D. In the creative modes it is preset to "AI Focus AF" where focus mode automatically switches between "One Shot" and "AI Servo" except in the A-DEP mode where "One Shot" AF is the preset mode.

Regards,
/Phil.

The camera will continuous focus in Sports Mode.

And if you look at the following link, you will find that one person has figured out how to force continuous focusing by installed a Mono Plug into the remote control port.
