Hmm - the 300 2.8 IS lens seems to have dropped recently at a number of places from £3,100 ish to £3,000. Not a huge change, but a fair chunk...

...anyone know why? Is there a 3rd-generation-IS version coming out soon???

Oh well. I ordered on anyway. 350D, grip and 70-300 IS being flogged-off to take some of the pain away... The 70-300 is as good as sold (coming back from Canon from the 'portrait' fix this week) and the camera/body will be on ebay shortly.
