Now I am so new to this I am lost more than I know where I am. ha Where can you get instruction on Photoshop. If I cannot learn the one that came with the 10D I am sure I won't spend $$$ for a better version. I have been trying to layer a photo all day. Either I am doing it totally wrong or *&^$# I just don't know. How do you lasso a part of the picture to make a layer. I just can't follow the edge.. Do I just need more practice or is there a easier way?? Help Help Help before I ...Well you get the idea,,ha ha. Any sugestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I've just got "The Hidden Power Of Photoshop Elements 2" by Richard Lynch. It's been recommended in many threads in the forums & comes with a cd which contains utilities to add to elements tools which are in the full version of photoshop but missing from elements

The Tutorials included with PSE2 are very helpful. I suggest you spend the time to do them.

Thanks for the name of a book on PSE2. I searched the archives and others mentioned that one also. I can do the easier functions in PSE2 but the tutorials show me that there is much more I can do and I just can't make it happen with the instructions in them. It may be me but at times I just need to be led by the hand. ha Obviously this program is much more complex than the HP editor I had been using with less than sucess. Found the book at Amazon.com.
Thanks again

I just bought Scott Kelby's book, The Photoshop Elements Book for Digital Photography. It has lots of pictures and step by step instructions. His books on Photoshop are raved about in one of the other threads.

Hi!
Scott Kelby has done a wonderful job with Photoshop tutorials. If you don't have a Scott Kelby book on Photoshop, please do yourself a big favor and get one. I have quite a few of his books and they are very informative.
You will not regret the purchase. You can find his books at Barnes and Noble in the computer software tutorial section.
Cheers! 8)
