From some of the posts I see, it appears that if you install a manual lens you will lose some functionality of the camera.
Can someone elaborate on that for me?
Thanks.

The old Canon FD lenses will not work on an EOS camera. Canon makes an FD to EOS adapter for the old macro lens only. This adapter is not compatible with any other FD lenses that I know of. When this adapter is used you will not get auto focus or auto exposure functions. It is not worth buying older FD lenses thinking that you will be able to use them on an EOS camera, you will not get satisfactory results with Digital or with a Film burner.
If you have any FD lenses you would be better off to find an old AE-1 or F1 and use them on that.

Right on Cal. That is the only lens you can use that adapter with i think.
And we all know what happends when you put somthing between the lens and body right? it really whacks out your focus. The extention tube was made for the 50mm macro to make it a true 1:1, but you can't focus at enfinity. So no adapter will prob ever exist.
